Ride-Along Program

The Pingree Grove Police Department offers a Ride‑Along Program for adults and qualified candidates who wish to observe patrol operations firsthand. This opportunity is open to individuals who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Residents of the Village of Pingree Grove who are at least 18 years of age, unless otherwise approved by the Chief of Police.

  • College students currently enrolled in a law enforcement curriculum

  • Individuals actively testing for the position of police officer with the Village of Pingree Grove

  • Additional participants may be considered with supervisory approval.

To participate, eligible individuals must submit a completed Ride-Along Application and Waiver. A valid photo ID must be presented at the time of submission. The department reserves the right to deny applications based on criminal history, pending litigation, or at the discretion of a supervisor. Ride-Alongs are limited to once every 12 months and usually do not last more than four hours. Applicants will undergo a background check before approval. Participants are expected to follow the officer's instructions, remain in the vehicle unless told otherwise, and dress appropriately. Recording or photographing incidents is strictly prohibited.

To apply, please complete the Ride-A-Long Application and Waiver and drop it off at the Pingree Grove Police Department during regular business hours.
