The Village held a public hearing on September 16 providing residents an opportunity to express their views on the proposed shared use path project, and the intended grant application to the Illinois Department of Transportation's Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) in the amount of $2,510,672.23. The program requires a 20% local match for engineering and construction. The goal of the ITEP grant project is to support alternate modes of transportation, enhance the transportation system throughout the community, and improve the quality of life for members of the communities.
