Village receives $10,000 grant from ComEd for butterfly/pollinator garden

The Village of Pingree Grove has received a ComEd Openlands matching grant for $10,000 for the design and construction of a butterfly/pollinator garden at the Pingree Grove Forest Preserve Park  on Prairie St in Pingree Grove, IL.  The garden will be the first of many projects anticipated for the 16 acre park including fenced-in dog parks for large and small dogs, picnic areas and pathways for passive activities.  The Park Advisory Committee is hard at work planning improvements to the park and would appreciate additional volunteers and donations!  Look for an agenda for their next meeting to be posted to the Agenda Center of the Village website. Meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
