The Village of Pingree Grove is hiring for the position of full-time Maintenance Worker I.
The ideal candidate will have the experience and ability to perform a variety of unskilled and semi- skilled tasks in the re-construction, maintenance and repair of public facilities including the areas of streets, water, sanitary sewers, lift stations, storm sewers, building maintenance, and forestry; and to provide courteous and efficient service to Village residents and the general public. The position includes heavy manual labor, heavy lifting, working at heights and in confined spaces, and working in times of adverse weather conditions. Mandatory overtime as required.
This candidate must possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a minimum “Class “B” with an air brake endorsement, or the willingness to obtain within six (6) months of hire. The new hire must obtain or be close to obtaining a Class 4 Wastewater Operator license and a Class D Water Works Operator license within one (1) year of hire and will be required to have successively greater levels of licensure in years following. The Village’s current pay structure recognizes licenses and professional certificates upon successfully achieving them. The starting pay rate is $16.00 without prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $24.00/hour, depending on qualifications and licensure. The Village reserves the right to classify the incoming employee as a Maintenance Worker I or II, depending on previous experience.
