CORRECTION: Watering permitted on odd numbered days, for odd numbered addresses and even numbered days, for even numbered addresses.
The Village encourages your participation in an odd/even schedule for use of sprinklers and garden hoses from 9am-6pm throughout the summer months, which tends to be the hottest time of the day with the highest evaporation rate. To participate, [CORRECTED] only water on odd numbered days if your address is an odd number, or water on even numbered days if your address is an even number. If we can effectively curtail demand with this voluntary measure, mandatory restrictions will not become necessary. Exceptions are provided for establishing sod on any property and watering cans may be used outdoors at any time. Residents should also be aware the Village's irrigation system does not operate from the potable water system and will continue to regularly operate throughout the summer, as required by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
