The Village of Pingree Grove is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) with a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, for the Village’s Consolidated Annual Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2019. This marks the eleventh consecutive year that the Village’s excellence in financial reporting has been formally recognized by the GFOA, and is an indication of the Village’s diligence in carefully managing public expenditures.
Village President Steve Wiedmeyer said, “the Village Board is proud of this accomplishment, as it represents an independent confirmation of the Village’s commitment to financial transparency and accountability. The efforts of our Village Board to carefully manage our resources are a cornerstone of the Village’s continued, fiscally conservative operations.” President Wiedmeyer went on to note that “the Village Board and I extend our appreciation to the Village’s outstanding staff, and especially to our Finance Director Karen Plaza, for their efforts to maintain the highest possible service levels within the funding that is provided.”
According to the notification provided by GFOA, the Certificate of Achievement “is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment…We hope that your example will encourage others in their efforts to achieve and maintain an appropriate standard of excellence in financial reporting.”
The Village of Pingree Grove commissions an independent Consolidated Annual Financial Report every fiscal year, to maintain an audited review of all expenditures and financial transactions and to ensure high levels of public trust continue to be earned by the Village in its governmental operations.
