We are pleased to announce that the Village is nearing completion of the Municipal Center at 555 Reinking Road! Over the past few weeks, we have been putting the finishing touches on the building, including finalizing utility connections and working on interior furnishings. In order to reduce costs as compared to using a third party contractor, our Public Works crews completed installation of the landscaping in front of the building this week. If you drive by today, you will see the new building-mounted signage, and our move is just around the corner!
The Board has worked diligently to control project costs at all times, and we have been working to complete activation of the elevator (to meet ADA accessibility standards) as well as to get building IT systems installed and operational.
In order to avoid inconveniencing the public, we are sharing that our anticipated move date is next Friday, June 28, 2019. We will confirm this with further information next week—so stay tuned! At the present time, our plan is to continue our public services at the current Village Hall through close of business on Thursday, June 27, 2019. In order to further control costs, we are reusing current Village computers and servers. When we move, the Village’s computers, servers and phones will be down for a period of time while being moved. On Friday morning, Administration, Building Division and Public Works activities will be suspended during the move. We anticipate reopening those services at our new location, 555 Reinking Road, on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 1:00pm. Services may be limited at that time, based on the status of the computer network. Unfortunately, we need to conduct the move on a week day to accommodate the port-over of phone services (which cannot be scheduled on a weekend).
To clarify:
Police Department services will continue without interruption at all times. In the event of an emergency, please dial 911.
Other Village phones, email, networks and services will be suspended during the morning of Friday, June 28, 2019. We will not be accepting utility payments or issuing building permits during that period. Limited services will resume Friday afternoon at 1:00pm, and we anticipate a return to full services on Monday, July 1, 2019. If there are any changes in the schedule, we will keep the public informed!
Stay tuned for information on an open house, tentatively contemplated for late summer/early fall of this year!
