The Village Board adopted the Infrastructure & Commercial Redevelopment Assistance (ICRA) Grant Program in 2022 to promote investment in permanent improvements to structures and property in the Program Area, located in and around the Heritage District. Eligible businesses and property owners may apply for funds in two program categories, summarized below. Award of grant funding is at the discretion of the Village Board and all interested parties are encouraged to first contact the Village Administration to review the current program status and availability of funds.
Qualified Permanent Infrastructure Improvements Up to $25,000 maximum grant, not to exceed 50% of actual cost of qualified improvements.
Sewer and/or water service, exclusive of tap-on connection fees.
Permanent grease trap.
On-site asphalt or concrete parking surface and curbing.
Exterior improvements to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Code-compliant permanent exterior lighting and appurtenances.
Qualified Permanent Interior Building Improvements Up to $20,000 maximum grant, not to exceed 50% of actual cost of qualified improvements.
Structural modifications to enhance the structure's retail viability.
Electrical, including electrical service upgrades.
Fire suppression and/or kitchen hoods.
Bathroom remodeling to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
