2016 SNOW REMOVAL PLAN

 

Primary Goal and Objective

The primary goal of the Village’s snow removal and ice control program is to maintain safe travel routes during and following snowstorms, as well as to restore mobility for the traveling public within a reasonable time frame after cessation of storm conditions.  For more detailed information regarding Target Levels and Priorities, Parking Regulations, Clearing and Salting, see the Snow Removal Plan above.


State and County roadways, and unincorporated areas serviced by the Townships are the sole responsibility of State, County, or Township agencies. Assistance due to emergency conditions may occur on a case-by-case basis, which include:

  • STATE MAINTAINED:
    • Illinois Route 72
    • Illinois Route 47
    • Illinois Route 20 (including Oak St Downtown Heritage District)
       
  • TOWNSHIP MAINTAINED:
    • Stage Coach Ln
    • Thurnau Rd (Route 47 to Route 72)
       
  • COUNTY MAINTAINED:
    • Highland Ave (Damisch to Randall Rd)
    • Big Timber Rd
       
  • CITY OF ELGIN MAINTAINED:
    • Damisch Rd (Store St to Big Timber Rd)
