Flood Bros. Contracted for Waste Disposal Service

Beginning January 1, 2009, Flood Bros Disposal Co. will provide refuse, recycling and yard waste service to residential properties with three units or less in the Village of Pingree Grove.

The new franchise agreement will enhance the level of refuse service provided to Pingree Grove residents. The key changes are summarized below.

• 95 Gallon refuse toter is provided at no additional charge. Additional toters can be rented if needed.

• As an option, households can rent a 65 gallon recycling toter or 35 gallon recycling toter to make recycling easier and cleaner for the community.

• A $1.85 sticker based yard waste collection program will be available from April 1 through November 30 each year.

• A .90 leaf sticker will be offered in the fall.

• Two free yard waste collections will be provided (first collection in June and October)

• Seven bulk items will be collected per calendar year at no charge.

• Three free Christmas tree collections will be provided.

• Senior citizens are eligible to receive a 35% discount off the refuse & recycling collection charge.

• Any handicapped head of household can receive backdoor collection at no additional charge.

• Collection day has expanded to a 3 day schedule.
