What Water and Sewer Services are Provided?  How do I Calculate My Bill?

The Village of Pingree Grove suplies the community with potable water pumped from existing wells and softened through an ion exchange system.  The Waste Water Treatment Plant treats waste water and supplies irrigation water for parkways and landscaping.

Billing
The Village utility bill is issued on a bi-monthly basis.  Meters are read at the end of each even numbered month, bills are mailed in odd numbered months, and payments are due by the 1st Thursday of each even numbered month.  Payments are due at Village Hall by 5:00pm on the due date.  Any payment received after the due date will be charged a 10% late fee.

Billing Issues and Testing for Water Leaks
In the event you receive a bill that is higher than normal, the Village suggests you conduct the following test:
1.  Add a small amount of food coloring into your toilet tank.  Wait 15 minutes without flushing.  If your toilet bowl water is colored, you have a leak.  If it is not colored, call Village Hall to discuss the situation.
2..  Check that your water softener and/or April Air systems are working properly.
3.  Check all outside faucets for leaks.

The Village has a Catastrophic Water Loss Policy for cases where there has been a major domestic plumbing issue such as a broken pipe.  If you have experienced a catastriphic water loss and would like an opportunity for your utility bill to be adjusted, please review this policy and the requirements to be considered for an adjustment.

Payment Options
For your convenience the Village offers automatic direct debit for payment of utility bills.  Simply complete the Auto Pay Form and submit it to Village Hall with a voided check attached.  Your payment for the next billing cycle will be automatically withdrawn from your account on the due date.  You may still be required to pay the balance due for this billing cycle.  Call the Utility Billing Coordinator at Village Hall to verify.

To make online payments from your MasterCard, Discover, American Express credit card or debit cards, click on the Online Payments icon on the home page.  You will be re-directed to the credit card payment module.  There is a small convenience fee charged for this service.  Credit card payments may also be made at Village Hall on a walk-in basis only.

Other options for bill payment include mailing your payment to Village Hall, dropping payments off in the deposit box outside Village Hall, and electronic bank checks directly from your bank account.  Keep in mind, you bank will mail a check to the Village, so plan accordingly.

Hydrant Flushing
Hydrants are flushed twice a year.  Residents are informed via the website and signs are posted on all main roads entering the community.  You are encouraged not to do laundry during this time due to inconsistent water pressure and the possibility of rust in the water.
